Schaft Inc, a Google subsidiary of Japan, built an HRP-2 robot in DARPA’s Robotics Challenge Trials, held in Miami. 16 teams with their robots participated in this competition for eight different tasks crucial for disaster response. Those tasks were driving a vehicle, walking over an uneven waste surface, climbing a ladder, clearing the path from debris, passing through different sized doors, making a way through the wall by cutting, closing valves, and connecting a hose.
